An external SFTP server is a registered destination that tiCrypt users can push data to from the Vault. It is the outbound half of tiCrypt's SFTP support, and it is not an inbox. An SFTP inbox moves data one way into a user's Vault and cannot send anything out; an external SFTP server is the path in the other direction.
Why external SFTP servers are allowlisted
Every other export route in tiCrypt ends in a logged Vault download. Outbound SFTP does not, so it is gated differently: registering a server here makes it available to the deployment, but nobody can use it until you grant that destination to a specific user or team. Treat each entry as an export authorization rather than a connection setting, and register only destinations your institution has approved to receive the data in question.
