How do I enforce an expiration date in the agency contract?
Many agencies who work with research teams require an expiration date in the institutional contract.
To add an expiration date to a contract, do the following:
1. Create a tiCrypt project based on the initial contract
To set up the environment for a limited-time contract, create the appropriate project to serve the contract's purpose.
To create a new project navigate to the tab in the Projects section.
- Click the button in the top right.
- Follow the instructions from the create a new project via projects section.
2. Add the members of the contract to the project
To add the appropriate members to the project they must have an existing tiCrypt account, belong to a team and be activated by an existing admin.
To add member(s) to project navigate to the tab in the Projects section.
- Select the project you would like to add member(s) to.
- Click the
Add member(s)button in the top right. - Follow the instructions from the add member(s) to project via projects section.
3. Add the appropriate contract-based security levels
Various agencies require researchers to be US citizens. You can set a level in your project titled "US Citizen".
To create a security level navigate to the tab in the Security Levels section.
- Click the
Create new security levelbutton in the top right. - Follow the instructions from the create a new security level
4. Create the appropriate project security requirements
Security requirements are used to "accomplish" the security level. Once project members fulfill the appropriate requirements, they qualify to actively work in the initial contract.
To create a new security requirement navigate to the tab in the Security Requirements section.
- Click the
Create new security requirementbutton in the top right. - Follow the instructions from the create a new security requirement
5. Certify User(s) with the project security requirements
To grant a user certification for a security requirement navigate to the tab in the Security Requirements section.
- Select the security requirement you want to certify the user.
- Follow the instructions from the certify user(s) with a security requirement section.
6. Certify User(s) with User Certifications
To certify user(s) for a certification navigate to the tab in the User Certifications section.
- Click the
Certify User(s)button in the top right. - Follow the instructions from the certify user(s) with a user certification section.
7. Finally, set an expiration date on User Certifications
User Certifications are the most necessary part of the initial contract because they can attribute an expiration date to the project members.
Copy-paste the project date from the contract to the User certifications to remove the concerns of operating with data on an expired agency contract.
This action will allow all your project members to be fully compliant with the expiration dates and motivated to carry out the project on time.
To set an expiration date on User Certifications navigate to the tab in the User Certifications section.
- Select the user you want to edit/renew the certification for.
- Follow the instructions from the edit/renew user certification section.
